1. 18milesperhour: WISDOM FROM THE RIDE: YOU’LL MAKE IT Saw this while riding up Topanga Canyon. I pulled over and watched this little, persistent guy travel the last few feet across the whole road, steadily and slowly, during rush hour traffic. Reminded me of myself out there some days. See, some rides you feel full of electricity. The hills are flatter and your legs are springier. You’re awake and alive. Then some other days my driveway feels like a cat 2 climb. It’s those days that I am the caterpillar. I just accept it’s gonna be slow one and embrace it. Head down, settle into a groove, use the climb as moving mindless meditation and turn those legs. And it’s still really enjoyable, in a different way. I just have a feeling tomorrow morning’s ride is gonna be like that for me. And it’s okay. That caterpillar made it. I’ll make it. You’ll make it.
